About this document

This document outlines a draft interface specification for POS integration with PharmX Gateway web services. It provides a technical description of the various web service interfaces (available or proposed) and document formats (proposed where applicable).

This Gateway 3.0 interface specification represents an evolution and extension of the Gateway 2.0 specifications; and many of the web methods and document formats will be familiar for those having already developed Gateway 2.0 integrations.

The web methods available to the POS systems are described in section 3 of this document, and the various objects exchanged via web services are described in section 4 of the document.

Audience

This document is for POS and Third-Party System developers and technical project management developing a new interface with PharmX from an order create and response message retrieval perspective or updating an existing interface from Gateway 2.0 to Gateway 3.0 to reap the array of new benefots provided by the PharmX gateway 3.0.

Scope

This document is intended to outline the overall process by which a POS system may develop an interface with the PharmX gateway version 3.0. This includes a recommended development process and technical specifications.

 Assumptions

It is assumed the developer understands EDI (electronic data interchange), POS systems and the concepts applied to previous PharmX Gateway interface connections.
